Biography
Yevgen Piskunov is a Ukrainian painter and Doctor of Arts. He was born on 31 March 1982 in Alchevsk, Luhansk Oblast, Ukraine. He trained at the children's art school in Alchevsk (1992–1996) and at the Luhansk College of Culture and Arts (1998–2003). He then studied at the Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv State Institute of Decorative and Applied Art and Design (2003–2005).
From 2005 to 2011 he studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAOMA) in Kyiv, in the workshop of Prof. M. Guida. He graduated with a Master's degree with honours as a painter, researcher and teacher and completed an assistantship at NAOMA in 2011–2014.
In 2012–2013 he taught art at School of Arts No. 6 in Suzhou, China. He has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2012. Since 2015 he has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Painting and Composition at NAOMA, where he has also taught plastic anatomy since 2020.
He works in painting, drawing and printmaking. He regularly takes part in all-Ukrainian, international and solo exhibitions and in art residencies, and has exhibited in China, Germany, Austria and France. In 2026 he was named laureate in the "Print" category of the H. Yakutovych Exhibition-Competition. He is the author of scholarly publications and lives and works in Kyiv.
